Cartridge World Plants More Than 500 Trees

Cartridge World, the U.K.’s leading retailer of refilled and remanufactured printer cartridges, is planting more than 500 trees at organisations and schools across the U.K. as part of a nationwide initiative. The ”Plant a Tree NOT a Cartridge” campaign has already saved 14,779 printer cartridges from being ‘planted’ in landfill.

Cartridge World is planting a tree for every 25 refilled or remanufactured printer cartridges it sold during National Tree Week in 2008. Cartridge World stores across the country received nominations from its customers and from schools, charities, nursing homes, parks and churches – and anywhere where planting the trees would benefit the community.

Mark Holland, UK General Manager of Cartridge World said: “This campaign has proved to be incredibly popular with customers across the U.K. Our customers benefit every day when they come into the stores and save themselves some money through using refilled cartridges. By joining us in this scheme they also helped to save a significant number of cartridges from ending up in landfill and enabled Cartridge World to plant a tree to benefit their community.”

Cartridge World is the market-leading retailer of refilled and remanufactured printer cartridges.  Using specifically formulated inks or toners, the Cartridge World stores can refill all major brands of ink and laser cartridges.  The end result is a high quality product offering the customer substantial savings on the cost of an original and an environmentally-friendly alternative to throwing the cartridge into landfill.
