Get more from your printer, by being a blood donor

Cartridge World, the UK’s market leading retailer of refilled and remanufactured printer cartridges, in partnership with the National Blood Service (NBS) is to offer students 25 per cent off printer cartridge refills at their local Cartridge World store.

The NBS are urging young adults to give blood to help to boost vital stocks at blood banks around the country.  Anyone donating blood via the university initiative will be given a 25 percent off voucher at Cartridge World and a whole host of other benefits. The NBS will hold the donor sessions throughout February 2010 to June 2010.

Commenting on the partnership with the NBS, Mark Holland, UK General Manager for Cartridge World, said: “As part of our continued commitment to supporting local communities, we’re delighted to team up with the NBS and hope our support will help many more people across the UK. This initiative will hopefully increase the number of blood donors who every day help to sustain life saving treatments.”

Andrew Calvert of National Blood Service commented “We are grateful to Cartridge World for making this offer to our student donors. It is gratifying that students are able to make a contribution to saving lives whilst also being encouraged to do their bit to save the environment.”

Cartridge World provides the ‘green’ alternative to buying replacement inkjet and laser printer cartridges, preventing empty cartridges from being thrown needlessly into landfill, where over 45 million are sent annually in the UK*, each taking up to 1,000 years to decompose**.
